Something For Everyone -A wonderful book

This is a great book which has a wonderful character in it that has much love in her heart. This woman looks around for ways to help her family and friends. If you like adventure books, this book is full of horses and dogs and her love for them and theirs for her. Also, this book is for victims of abuse to read to learn how to put the abuse behind them and move on with their lives. It is a true story. With this book you don't have to be a victim of abuse to love it. There are things in it for all of us . Read it and you will be saying ,"I have been there too. Wow! So that is how she handled it!" You will sit and cheer with this book and how she handles her life. This book deals with aging parents ,and what to do to help them. But this is one of those books you may want to re-read. Page-turner, Refreshing, Hope, Inspirational

Reviewed by: Writer, Mary Hecht (2/18/09)

Becky Conrad draws you into her life with a desire to know what will happen next. You hope for the best as she struggles to put the past behind her. Her thoughts make you feel as if you are there, and you will find it hard to put this book down. As with many women, Becky has a lot on her heart and mind. She wants to contribute by giving back to her community. If you are an animal lover, this book will please you. Her love of animals leads her down the road of unavoidable heartbreak. Working for the Humane Society gives her purpose, but takes so much of her time; it is overwhelming. She struggles to balance work and her private life. Church was a place she thought would fulfill the desire to serve and worship God in the company of other believers. Human nature steals the joy as she questions her heartfelt desire to help and serve others. She gave until she was broken down and no one seemed to care. Questioning her life path, she makes hard to take adjustments. She makes you feel her disappointment and frustration. Her writing is truly understandable as you follow her steps. This book is a refreshing story filled with ups and downs, as she deals with the declining health of her Mother. The detailed nature of this book shows the reader, you are not alone. She makes you realize you must have patience and forgiveness. I loved this book for its truth in writing. Becky shows you there is hope for those that have suffered great pain at the hands of those they loved. A book you will recommend to family and friends. Writer, Mary Hecht-Colora, MD.

Raw and Honest

I have just finished reading "A Better Day Dawning." Becky Conrad's second book. This autobiography is a wonderful testament of life after abuse. It shows the reader that there is more to life than stepping into an abyss when leaving your abuser. There is no promise that it will be easy but Conrad shows that with determination and spirit, a new life can be built one brick at a time. The author shows that it is wonderful to be able make your own decisions and to breathe freely. The emotions revealed in this book are raw and honest. It leaves the reader relieved, with hope of a better day.

Hey Becky... Just finished your second book..WOW! It was so awesome. You have helped me in so many ways. I know I have learned a lot in the 2 books I've read about life and men and that men aren't all bad and how to learn to forgive. Even those who really just didn't deserve your forgiveness. Sorry, but there were a few people that I would have knocked out for ya. You have taught me so much and I am so grateful that you chose to share your story so that people like me know we're not alone. For some reason God wanted me to read your books. There were so many signs. A friend was telling me about it...I was in an abusive relationship. Well thank you for taking the time to read my e-mails. I sure hope there will be another book :) You're a great writer. Ashley

Just got through reading the second book. You are an amazing person, Becky. You have conquered so much and helped so many people and animals along the way.  I can't believe one person could be involved in so many things at one time, and writing two books to boot. Best of luck in your book sales, helping others, and your future endeavors. P. S.

Becky Conrad's Heart

It is true, each of us have our own personal story about our journey through life. There are some willing to take that very courageous step to share their story in print. I thought A BETTER DAY DAWNING was far more than a story ... I believe it is Becky Conrad's heart. With each of life's injustices and lessons, the human spirit refused to suffer defeat but continued in search of that ... better day dawning!

A new day and a new life. A safer one. I find it very up lifting, after what she went through in her earlier years. I know this wonderful lady, and she is and always will be my closest friend. I was very elated to read the poems her husband wrote, what a compassionate man. I know him also, but I didn't know his inner being. I always knew he was a great guy. I also know that their lives together are precious. Great job my friend....Shar
